I discovered Shorpy.com a while back, when they started following our Abandoned app tweets. It's a curated, crowd-sourced archive of high resolution, historical photography. If you haven't already seen it, check it out - it's a fascinating collection - from sepia moments of ephemera, to color Kodachromes from WWII. It's great fun just to browse... I like to look at it for design and typography inspiration. Just search any random keyword and settle in for something interesting.
They've also added a neat little collection of iPhone Wallpapers comprised of some of the images from their archive - from an iconic iron worker to a 40s farmer, replete with heroic up-lighting.
